###

### Foreword

Welcome to the third book in our Rallybacks Series where we will cover how to read your homeowner’s insurance Policy.

We will cover your Declarations Page and basic information, then dive into the major coverage buckets that protect your home and personal belongings, followed by additional details within your coverage that may help with your rebuild. We’ll wrap up with a long chapter about the various perils your policy may or may not cover. With all that said, let’s get into it…

This is the legal contract between you (the insured) and your insurance company (the insurer). The primary purpose of this contract is to make your accidental loss financially palatable in exchange for a pre-determined fee (your premium).

This is generally the first page of your policy and it summarizes your coverage in each major area. Also referred to as your "dec page".
