Maintaining a beautiful lawn and garden requires a wide range of tools, equipment, and supplies. These outdoor areas are often filled with items that are essential for gardening, landscaping, and even caring for small livestock. Generally speaking it’s also a little challenging to predict where a homeowner may store many of these items (such as in a garage, Shed, Greenhouse or simple storage container). With that in mind we decided to bundle these types of items together from a usage standpoint, leaving where to account for many of these in your inventory management up to you.

As always, documenting these items during an insurance Claim or construction project is crucial to ensure all belongings are accounted for. This guide will help you create a comprehensive inventory of their lawn and garden items, covering tools, equipment, and other essential supplies.

### Types of Lawn & Garden Areas

**Backyard Garden:** A cultivated area in the backyard, often used for growing flowers, vegetables, and herbs. These gardens are usually equipped with various tools, irrigation systems, and decorative elements.

**Orchard or Fruit Garden:** A dedicated space for growing Fruit Trees, berry bushes, or other edible plants. This area may include specific tools and protective supplies to maintain healthy plants.

**Lawn:** The grassy area of the yard that requires regular maintenance such as mowing, fertilizing, and watering. The lawn often houses a variety of equipment, including mowers and trimmers.

**Poultry and Livestock Area:** Much less common than the other areas, a section of the yard or garden dedicated to keeping chickens, ducks, or other small livestock still should be accounted for. This area typically includes coops, feeders, and other essential supplies for animal care but keep in mind if the area is much larger than a hobby you may need separate coverage for farming activities.
